Mechanism of Action

Vildagliptin inhibits the DPP-4 enzyme, increasing incretin hormone levels (GLP-1 and GIP). This enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces glucagon release, helping control blood glucose levels without significant risk of hypoglycemia.

Metformin Hydrochloride reduces hepatic glucose production, improves insulin sensitivity, and enhances peripheral glucose uptake. It also decreases intestinal glucose absorption, contributing to overall glycemic control.
