Mechanism of Action

Telmisartan selectively blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. This leads to relaxation of blood vessels, reduction in peripheral resistance, and improved blood flow, resulting in effective lowering of blood pressure.
